Pamukkale

After the business trip to Pakistan I had been in Europe (Switzerland and Germany) for just 10 days. This week I flew to Turkey, just for three days.

After three days in Turkey I can’t say much about the kind people and great culture of Turkey. On the other hand, I was in Turkey not as a Tourist. I was there to work together with Turkish people in an Turkish company. Turkish people said, that most Europeans go to Turkey to have warm weather and a beach in a hotel resort at the coast. Then they fly back where they come from and at home they say, that they had been to Turkey. Then they also talk about Turkey and Turkish culture at home, but in reality they only know the Hotel and they didn’t see anything from Turkey or the people there. So, after three days working together with Turkish people on one eye level I know much more about Turkey than these kind of tourists of course.

But it is my blog policy that I don’t write about things happen during work, because of business secrets by the customer and by the Swiss company I work for. When I write about my abroad experiences then I only do that about things happen after work. And this is the reason, why I don’t write about my culture experiences at this time, because three days are too less for that.
However, one Turkish colleague said that I have to see also „Pamukkale“ which is very famous in Denizli. Usually before I fly to another country to do my job there, I don’t read tourist guides, because I am there for my job and not as a tourist. So this time I was ashamed, because I didn’t heard anything by this place before. And I’ve learnt for my next trips: Search also some basic information about the area where you go.

The Pamukkale is an UNESCO World Heritage Site! It is really famous in Turkey and we just had to drive a couple of minutes after work then we had been there. It was amazing to see a lot of tourists there who came from Japan, China, Taiwan and South Korea! So it is really famous, and I don’t want to write too much about the history of Pamukkale, because you will find a lot of informations about that place in the web and also in every language you prefer in a book store. All I say here is, that the place was created by Roman people 2500 or 2000 years ago.

At Pamukkale there comes thermal water out of the mountain. This water contains Bicarbonate and a lot of Calcium.

This is why that water is really healthy and helps against a lot of diseases; for example against high blood pressure, artery disease and Stomach and small bowed diseases. In Pamukkale you can drink direct the water coming out of the mountain. But there is also a swimming pool; damn I forgot my Swim wear this time!

The swimming pool created by Romans more than 2000 years ago. Only the buildings around that place were created new that you can change the clothes in privacy.

However, from the swimming pool there is a great view on the old amphitheatre of Pamukkale, which is also more than 2000 years old:

Of course we went there that I could make some other photos too.

conclusion

My first impression after three working days in Turkey is, that the Turkish people are very very kind and friendly. It was very kind by my Turkish colleague to show me the Pamukkale after work. Maybe I have to go there again for business. Of course, then I take my swim wear with me!

The last photo I shot that day could be good enough to be a typical postcard:
